Title The Loop is a high speed fibre optic network that delivers the Internet, Internet services and educational resources to the Nelson region's schools.
Abstract In large part, the Loop is a response to the realisation that individual schools do not have the expertise, resources or economies of scale to provide the high spec infrastructure and internet services users will require.
It is modelling the emerging trend for schools to collaborate in 'networks of networks'. The Loop gives techers 'one click' access to multimedia services and resources regardless of geographic location or school size.
The Loop will offer a competitive alternative to commercial models by providing significantly cheaper, faster, more responsive and more educationally valid digital services and resources.
